Build up Nepal named finalist in prestigious EarthShot Prize 2024
Congratulations to our BPP COVID Recovery partner, Build Up Nepal, for being selected as one of 15 global finalists in this year’s prestigious Earthshot Prize!
Build Up Nepal, together with Engineers Without Borders Sweden, S&S Management Services, and the Australian Government, is empowering rural entrepreneurs to produce affordable, safe, and eco-friendly bricks. Houses built with these innovative bricks even withstood last year’s devastating earthquake in Nepal.
Founded by Prince William in 2020, the Earthshot Prize aims to discover, spotlight, and scale groundbreaking solutions to repair and regenerate our planet.
What’s next? All 15 finalists will take part in a special Awards Ceremony in Cape Town on Wednesday, 6 November, with five winners each receiving £1 million (AUD1.95 million) to scale their solutions. Find out more.
