Women powering the Pacific and Timor-Leste’s clean energy transition

Across the Pacific and Timor-Leste, the clean energy transition is not just about technology, it’s about people driving change. Women across the region are stepping into leadership roles that are transforming how energy is generated, managed and shared. Their leadership is building stronger, more resilient communities and showing what an inclusive energy future looks like.

From installing solar systems in remote villages to leading major infrastructure projects, women are making significant contributions across the clean energy value chain. They are also creating stronger economies by encouraging more women and girls to also get involved and pursue energy-related careers and opportunities.

We are proud to launch our Women in Power series, celebrating the remarkable leaders driving the clean energy transition across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Over the coming months, we will share stories of women powering change in off-grid renewable energy. They are technicians, project managers, engineers, entrepreneurs and community leaders who are breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes and leading their communities towards a clean energy future.

Each story highlights work through the Off-Grid Renewable Energy Partnerships program, delivered by the Business Partnerships Platform. These partnerships are supported by the Pacific Climate Infrastructure Financing Partnership (PCIFP), a $350 million Australian Government initiative delivered by the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific (AIFFP). They are pilots for REnew Pacific, the Australian Government’s $75 million investment in off-grid renewable energy in remote communities across the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

Follow along as we share their stories over the coming months.
