BPP impact in action: Vietnam’s Green Recovery partnerships deliver sustainable results

We’re proud to continue the BPP Partnership Impact Series with a spotlight on our Green Recovery projects in Vietnam, which concluded in 2024.

Launched to accelerate a green and inclusive recovery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, these partnerships tackled climate change and environmental challenges while creating sustainable livelihoods. They helped smallholder farmers diversify production, opened new income streams through innovative food systems and scaled renewable energy solutions that cut waste and emissions.

The results have been transformative.

The Bioenergy on commercial farms partnership reached 98 pig farms across 24 provinces. By turning waste into clean energy, farmers cut electricity costs by 25%, slashed emissions and trained more than 450 operators to keep biogas generators running.

The Sustainable cricket farming partnership trained local farmers to produce low-impact insect protein, now sold across more than 800 outlets worldwide, improving nutrition and boosting household incomes.

The Advanced climate smart farming to improve lives and landscapes partnership piloted Orlar’s high-tech farms in the Mekong Delta, producing 5,800kg of clean food, creating local jobs and pioneering carbon-neutral crops that achieve 100% water-use efficiency while using 95% less energy than traditional hydroponics.

Follow along as we share more impact stories from Vietnam’s Green Recovery partnerships in the coming weeks!
