From ideas to impact: introducing the BPP Partnership Impact Series

Since 2016, the BPP has connected the Australian Government with inclusive, impact-driven businesses to tackle development challenges across the Asia-Pacific, Africa and beyond.

Through 75 partnerships with more than 140 organisations across 21 countries, the BPP has helped deliver practical, locally led solutions that strengthen climate resilience, improve livelihoods and enable inclusive economic growth.

Now, we’re proud to launch the BPP Partnership Impact Series, a collection of stories that celebrates outcomes and lessons from our partnerships.

We begin the series with a spotlight on our COVID-19 Recovery partnerships in Nepal, which concluded in 2024. These partnerships were developed in response to the urgent social and economic challenges triggered by the pandemic, particularly for women, low-income workers and returned migrants.

Together, these three partnerships focused on:

  • Supporting smallholder farmers through digital tools and supply chain support
  • Strengthening local aquaculture with smart technology and sustainable practices
  • Scaling affordable, low-carbon bricks to build safer homes.

The results have been transformative:

✅ 60,000+ people trained in sustainable farming and aquaculture
✅ 22,000+ people with increased incomes
✅ 3,800 earthquake-resilient homes built
✅ 1,300+ local jobs created
✅ 38,000+ tonnes of CO₂ saved – the equivalent of taking 7.2 million cars off the road for a year

We can’t wait to share their stories soon.

What’s next?

Over the coming months, we’ll continue to feature stories about the impact of BPP partnerships through the Series and invite you to follow along!
