BPP impact in action: Climate adaptation partnerships strengthening resilience in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta
We’re excited to share the next chapter of our Business Partnership Platform Impact Series, shining a spotlight on the Climate Adaptation Partnerships in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta.
Launched in November 2023, the BPP launched four business partnerships in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta to tackle climate adaptation, including Deltaccelerate, a Women’s Agribusiness Climate Adaptation Accelerator, which supported an additional six enterprises.
Supported by the Australian Government, these partnerships have been strengthening sustainable and inclusive businesses that advance Vietnam and Australia’s shared climate goals, delivering social, gender equality and development benefits for local communities.
Working across climate-resilient aquaculture, adaptive crops, parametric insurance and women-led agribusinesses, the partnerships have so far delivered:
- supported climate-resilient practices across 11,000 hectares of farmland
- created 1,300+ jobs
- trained 18,200+ people in climate adaptation
- enabled 140+ women to supported in leadership roles.
And so much more!
While these BPP partnerships are concluding, the partners will continue working together, to progress and scale these tested models, strengthen local capacity and support climate adaptation across the Mekong Delta.
